The Red Chair

The red chair we use at Konstfack was designed by the architect Enrico Franzolini for the Italian furniture company Crassevig in 1994. The chair is called Asia and comes in a number of versions (with arms, different legs, different heights, bar stool). It has chrome plated steel legs and a laminate covered plywood seat. Franzolini designed a number of other chairs for Crassevig including Persia, China, Bianca, Teresa, Ginotta, Mira and Axel. The ‘Asia’ chair was chosen by Love Arben Arkitekter, the interior architects of Konstfack because it satisfied a number of requirements and because it was red.
